Digital Marketing – Introduction
Nowadays we all know about the buzzword Digital Marketing. This is one of the most on demand career option in today. So this topic is just an introduction or overview of Digital Marketing.
What is Digital Marketing?
In my previous post, we have discussed what is Marketing. Now it’s time to define Digital Marketing. In a very simple term, Any Marketing activities which is carried out in the form of electronic media such as through internet, email, SMS, social media etc is known as Digital Marketing.
Digital marketing includes the following-
SEO (Search Engine Optimization), SEM (Search Engine Marketing), PPC (Pay Per Click), Google Analytics, Google Adwords, Affiliate Marketing, Blogging, Social Media marketing and much more.
In this post, I am just going to give an over view about all these mentioned above. We will discuss everything in details in my next post because all these topics are huge and have its own techniques and procedure.
SEO (Search Engine Optimization): SEO is the technique to improve the rank of your website. Whenever we search something in google we get the topic. Now, what makes the website on top of the search? There are various SEO techniques which help a website to get that top of the Google Page.
SEM (Search Engine Marketing): It is the paid form of SEO i.e This technique also help your website to show at the top of the search page but in the form Advertisement. It requires money. This comes under Google Adwords. In my next post, I will share how to post an ad in google using Google Adwords.
Social Media Marketing: Social Media nowadays plays a vital role in Digital Marketing. By social media, we should not consider only Facebook but also Twitter, Linkedin, Pinterest, Instagram etc. By placing Ads in social media we can reach maximum crowd in the market. Facebook is the most preferred platform for marketing among many Digital Marketers because of its rich features which help the marketers to target the right segment.
Affiliate marketing: The best way to earn money online. Just place some ads on your website and whenever any visitor click on that ad and make some purchase you will get some commission.
Email Marketing: This is one of the most used techniques to collect leads. This is a part of database Marketing. This technique helps to collect email address of the various segment and build a database of prospect or leads. Then you can market your product or service through email. Some popular platforms for automated email marketing are- MailChimp, Reach Mail, Target hero, CakeMail, Mailjet and much more.
